Gabby D’Souza is an editor working in Wellington, New Zealand. She completed her Master of Fine Arts in Creative Practice at Te Herenga Waka in 2023, and her Bachelor of Creative Media Production at Massey University in 2021.
She has experience working on narrative short films, documentaries, children’s television shows, web-series, corporate and commercial videos, music videos and live edited events. She is proficient in Avid Media Composer, Davinci Resolve Studio, Adobe Premiere Pro and Final Cut Pro.

Gabby’s work has been recognised on multiple occasions through awards and nominations in the film festival scene.
Finding the Lighthouse (2021): Best Design Awards bronze award, Independent Short Awards best student short film, Best Indie Film Awards best LGBT film, official selection in Little Wing Film Festival, OUT At The Movies International, Northern Festival of Cinema, Middlebury New Filmmakers Festival, The Film Collective and New Zealand Vision Feast.
Butterfly (2023): Screened at the Aotearoa Poetry Film Festival 2023 and the Third Culture Film Festival 2024.
Tokorua Hei Kotahi (2023): New Zealand Youth Film Festival Warner Bros. Best 22-24 Age Group finalist, official selection at The Wairoa Māori Film Festival and the Kiriata Māori Showcase.
Yes, And? (2024): 48 HOURS Wellington City Finalist, nominated for best editing, WIFT best female filmmaker, best director, best script, best cinematography, best production design, best original score, best use of warning, best use of match cut.
Dive (2024): Nominated for best live action short film in the AFIN International Film Festival, selected for the Lift-Off Filmmaker Sessions 2024, NZ Webfest 2024, & Top of the South Film Festival 2024.
